Fall 2023 Student Move-In August 20 through August 27

It’s that time of year again, when new and continuing students return to American University’s campus for the start of a new academic year. Returning students and their families are expected to arrive throughout the week of Sunday, August 20 – Sunday, August 27. New students and their families are expected to arrive on campus Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23. All move-in times are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. unless there has been a specific request for an early move in. Cars will be directed to enter both Fletcher and Glover Gates for drop-offs.
On August 22 and August 23, rideshares will be directed to enter Fletcher Gate only. All other vehicles will enter campus at Glover Gate.
AU will have movers and volunteers ready to help students unload, provide directions and more. American University Police Department officers will be available at Fletcher and Glover gates to ensure traffic on campus is maintained and to ensure through traffic passage continues on Massachusetts and Rockwood.
For more information regarding student move-in days, visit the Fall Move-In Day webpage.
New Director of Community Relations Announced

After a nationwide search, American University is thrilled to announce that Gwendolyn Coleman has rejoined AU as the Director for Community Relations. In this role, Gwen will assist in developing AU’s strategy for Community Relations, support and enhance the AU Neighborhood Partnership, and support AU’s initiative on Working with Washington DC as part of the Changemakers for a Changing World strategic plan.
Gwen joins AU from Georgetown University where she recently served as the Director for Neighborhood Life in the Government Relations and Community Engagement Office supporting the Georgetown Community Partnership, leading efforts to educate and support students living off-campus and leading GU’s response to community concerns.
Please join us in welcoming Gwen back to AU. You can reach Gwen at gwen@american.edu or (202) 885-2146.

By being a part of the Berkshire Farm CSA program, you not only receive fresh, seasonal produce, but also contribute to supporting sustainable agriculture and become a vital part of our growing Berkshire Farm community.
The 9-week fall share starts on September 13 and continues until early November.
