Bio
John's current research focuses on front-line team leadership in government organizations. He is particularly interested in how front-line leaders allocate credit for team performance. Are female team members less likely to get credit than male team members? Do female leaders allocate credit differently than male leaders? If so, why? Teams are the elemental building blocks of modern organizations. Nearly everything that contemporary organizations accomplish is accomplished in teams. Answers to these and related questions are therefore crucial to advancing knowledge about effective leadership in public sector organizations.

John's work has appeared in the Journal of Public Administration Research & Theory, Public Administration Review, and other outlets. During the 2017-2018 academic year, he was a Fellow with the United States government's Office of Evaluation Sciences.
